Delhi is a victim of "step- motherly treatment" by the Centre, the city’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed, adding that the Central government is confused if it should treat Delhi as a union territory or as a state.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has in the past accused the Centre of "disrupting an elected government" and creating hurdles in its functioning. It has also been demanding that the share in central taxes and duties for the city should be increased.

I don’t think the Olympics mean anything to India because we are not interested in sports, barring one. That’s because cricket has become tamasha. As a nation, we only enjoy tamasha. The Games will be just another spectacle, with its grand opening ceremony. That’s it. Look at how we treat our athletes—Santhi Soundarajan works in a brick kiln for `200 a day. Does Olympic gold medallist Leslie Claudius get any recognition? Vishwanathan Anand is in the news only when he makes it to a finals. Mary Kom should be iconic for what she’s achieved. We’ve some of the finest athletes, but they find it difficult to get sponsors and to continue in sports as there’s no support.
