Sir,

I shall feel grateful if you kindly publish the following few lines in the columns of your esteemed daily. I wish to draw the attention of the public through your daily about the nuisance of loudspeakers in the city.

Loud-speakers have become great nuisance in the city of late. I wonder why people have become religious. I do not want to fight with their religious faith, but they have no right to disturb by constant noise made by loud-speakers. The Police authorities appear to be silent about this nuisance. Nobody can play loud-speakerp after 10 p.m. but the loud-speakers fitted on the religious places continue to disturb the public throughout night. In the interest of studies of students, I pray to the public not to play loud-speakers at high pitch during the night and early in the morning so that the students can prepare for their examination well.

Letter Writing: Letter to Editor of a newspaper on the nuisance caused by loudspeakers

New Delhi

5th March 2020

To

The Editor,

The Times of India,

New Delhi.

Subject: The insensitive use of loudspeakers.

Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed daily national newspaper, I would like to highlight the nuisance caused by the irresponsible use of loudspeakers.

Loud music especially during festivals is a problem we face with annoyance in every locality of our towns and cities. Festivals are a part of our religious, and social life. The problem is not celebration of festivals, but the manner in which they are celebrated. Most of the popular festivals in India are celebrated using loudspeakers to play music at high volume throughout the day and all night long.

This practice by religious organisations is public disturbance and a major cause of noice pollution. Noise pollution is known to cause headache, irritation, and other health problems. We must also sympathise the sick people as well as children and infants who need to rest and sleep properly.

The irresponsible use of loudspeakers interfere with the students who are studying for school and college exams, competitive exams for jobs or doing their daily homeworks.

People need to be aware that our freedom must not become a serious problem to other people. I strongly feel that the use of loudspeakers should be banned in residential areas and defaulters severely penalised.

Yours sincerely

JOYDEEP
