Subject : Letter Based on Rash Driving
Respected Sir ,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to draw the attention of Traffic Police of Bangalore towards reckless driving.
It is high time that proper steps are taken to put a stop to the reckless driving of motor cars and other vehicles in the streets of our thickly populated city. Only two days ago, a poor old beggar narrowly escaped from being run over by a motor car going at a very high speed. The beggar was crossing the street when a, car came dashing along at a speed above ninety kilometers an hour.
Many women and children who try to cross the roads of this overpopulated city become victims to such reckless driving. This has caused many fatal accidents.
There is no doubt that regulations regarding speed limit do exist . But the drivers pay no heed. The police too take little or no notice of these offenders. Hence, accidents are almost a daily occurrence.
The police must strictly enforce the regulations regarding limit. The public who are the worst sufferers, must bring pressure to bear Upon the police and other authorities to put a stop to reckless and negligent driving, otherwise this menace will continue unabated Leading to more deaths.
Thanking you.
Yours Sincerely,
SHRUTHI . S

Subject: Reckless driving endangering precious human life.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of the traffic authorities and the general public on the issue of reckless driving which causes accidents and results in injuries and lost of life.
There are clear traffic rules which prohibit overspeeding, driving on the wrong lane, parking in no parking zones, bikers without helmet, car drivers without driving license, driving without seat belts, driving under influence of intoxicants, etc and also we defined penalties for defaulters. Overspeeding and ignoring traffic lights are normal to them. They drive under the influence of alcohol. There are several hit and run cases everyday. Reckless drivers hit other vehicles or people walking on foot and fled the scene with the victims bleeding, screaming in pain and calling for help. Those whose driving exceed the speed limits must be given exemplary punishments. These reckless drivers give no regards for the rules and regulations of public roads. They are a menace and highly dangerous to public safety. Our traffic personnel must do their best to book them under relevant laws.
Maybe it is high time for us to review the existing penalties imposed upon people for rash driving. Imposing heavier penalties on offenders is the need of the hour to deter rash and reckless driving. A rash driver involved in hit and run should be fined along with appropriate imprisonment time.
Our traffic control personnel must be increased. Both population and vehicle users are growing rapidly but the number of traffic police has not has more or less remained the same. It is also necessary to introduce road safety lessons in the text books of schools and colleges. Students must be taught the necessity of safe driving and learn to honour the sanctity of human life. Further, no driving license should be issued to anyone until they have passed from driving schools with satisfactory performance.
"Speed thrills but kills." Reckless and irresponsible driving endangers the life of the driver as well as other drivers and pedestrians. It is better to drive safely then to regret later.
Yours sincerely,
HEMANT
