Sir,

            I beg to draw your kind attention to the problem of stray animals in the Basant Nagar locality.

Some four to six animals keep loafing about in this locality throughout the day. Sometimes they wander in two’s and sometimes they herd together and prowl here and there in search of food. They tease small children and chase elderly people who come to visit someone in the locality. The people in the locality are mortally afraid the these animals.

            More often than not, it is seen that these stray animals enter the houses and spoil plants, utensils, etc. children are scared of these animals. As the animals run after small children, they fall down. Sometimes, they are hurt badly. Ladies in the locality are terribly afraid of these stray animals. A few days ago, an old man was bitten by a animals. He is still nursing the wound and cursing the animals. These unclaimed animals have become a terror for everybody in the locality. It is feared that some of these animals suffer from rabies.

            You are, therefore, requested to take up necessary steps in the matter. The animals which are found suffering from rabies may be got shoot dead.

            The people living in this locality will be grateful to you.

Sir,

A large number of stray animals keep roaming on the busy Patel Road all hours of the day. Many a lee time, they cause traffic jams as well as accidents. Some of these animals are cows and buffaloes that have gone dry. Their owners let them loose on the road without caring for the inconvenience caused to the road users. Besides, it gives a very ugly look to the whole area. The entire place remains littered with the excrement of these animals. All such stray animals should be impounded and sent to the Municipal pen. They should be returned only after their owners have paid a heavy penalty. Such requests have been made time and again to the concerned authorities, but no action has been taken so far. Hopefully, this letter will meet the eyes of our worthy officials, and steps will be taken to end this problem of stray animals.
