The District Magistrate, 13/01/2017
Dist.: 24 Paraganas North,
Office of the District Magistrate,
Barasat,
West Bengal.
Dear Sir,
I live in the Kaikhali area, near Kolkata Airport. I seek your help in controlling the nuisance of the use of loudspeakers in my area.
Loudspeakers are used for Hindu festivals, Muslim festivals and Friday Prayers, Political meetings, Picnics and on every other occasion. These keep running from the morning till late at night on any given day. No heed is paid to the harm such sound pollution causes to the local population, most of all to the old, sick and frail. These are also a distraction for students preparing for examinations.
In my opinion use of loudspeakers should be completely banned, like in any civilised society. If this stricture is not followed, exemplary punishment should be meted out to the offenders, who in any case flout every rule that is laid down in the statute. I would request you to intervene in the matter and take action expeditiously as our complaint to the local police appears to have fallen on deaf years.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully

Subject- Indiscriminate use of loudspeaker
Dear Sir,
I would like to bring your kind attention to the indiscriminate use of loudspeaker through the Time of India column. Nowadays, the loudspeaker has been used by the companies beyond the stipulated time in the marriages and religious ceremonies. The nuisance cause disturbance to the students and adults.
I would request senior authorities to consider the concern and take some strict measures to eliminate the nuisance. Efforts for such concern will be appreciated by all.
Yours Sincerely,
