SUBJECT: Decreasing number of birds
Through the columns of your prestigious daily newspaper, I would like to draw the attention of the authorities towards the declining number of birds in our city.
Our city is considered to be a modern and highly developed place. The living standard is high. Skyscrapers can be seen everywhere. The roads are among the smoothest in the world. Unfortunately, this rapid modernization has badly effected the environment.
Trees are being cut, poaching is at its peak and the worst of all- seeing a bird is slowly becoming a rare sight.
The pleasant chirping of cuckoos, nightingales, sparrows, parrots and mynahs which is a source of happiness for the people of all ages is fading away with each passing day.
There are many factors behind this blunder.
One of the major ones is destroying their habitat-deforestation.
Factories spewing black smoke in the atmosphere and pollution are causing many of them to permanently migrate to other faraway places.
Industries that release harmful chemicals have adverse effects on the health of these birds and can even be fatal.
It is the need of the hour. We need to be compassionate to all living organisms. Therefore I would request you to kindly look into the matter and make some necessary arrangements, such as setting up of bird houses, organising mass plantations, limiting the amount of trees cut each day and controlling industrial smoke.
Your kind efforts would be appreciated by all.
Thanking You
Yours affectionately
