Subject: Shortage of water in summer

Sir:

I write to you to express my concern and helplessness thinking you might assist me in waking up the sleeping municipal corporation authorities!

Our locality has been facing severe scarcity of water in this summer . The problem is quite complex. Our locality has not been receiving normal water supply for many days. It is owing to the ever increasing pressure of new colonies mushrooming in the outskirts. The water supply is being given to these new colonies by attaching them to the few water supply facilities. As a result the water does not come in taps.

We requested the Municipal Commissioner to provide a new water facility in our locality for this summer  but to no avail.   The municipal authorities have quite an apathetic attitude towards providing public amenities to people.

People have been facing severe water scarcity for many months now. Through the columns of your reputed daily I wish to draw the attention of the concerned Ministry and local authorities towards the severity of our plight. I also appeal to people to use water sagaciously.

I hope you will assist me in this cause by publishing my letter in your newspaper. Thanking you.

Yours truly,

samir

Subject: Shortage of water in summer

Respected Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, we, the residents of Kankulia road, wish to draw the attention of the authorities concerned to help us with the shortage of water we are facing in our locality. Since the summer has set in, our locality usually gets water for half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the evening. The water we receive is barely 90litres, which isn't sufficient for everyone for their daily needs. Sometimes the Municipal Corporation sends tankers of water to provide some help but, for the past few days, none of the tankers have come to our aid. We have tried contacting the authorities but they don't pay any heed to our request. The residents of the area aren't too happy with buying jars of water every day. The last time we contacted the authorities they said they will send two or three tankers to help us out daily but it seems it was just giving us false hope. This isn't the first time this is happening. This situation had occurred a few times before in winter as well as a few months back.

The residents are getting impatient and angry because none of the promises are being kept by the authorities in charge. Thus, I  wish for your help in this matter as it is not possible to buy water jars every day. Not all people are wealthy to afford them. If nothing is done the problem will worsen as the days pass by.

Yours truly,

Hinata.
