Dear Sir,

Subject: Appreciation of the 'Charity Law' enacted by the Indian Parliament

I thought to write this letter because I saw the small column in the newspaper stating that the paper needs some views of the general public towards the enactment of the law.

As a citizen of India, it is a right for me to express my views towards a law enacted by the Parliament.

The Parliament of India has recently enacted the 'Charity Law'. It states that 20% of the total taxes collected from the Government will be used for the welfare of the needy people.

It is a moment of pride for me as an Indian as our Government has taken such a brave step towards solving problems of the needy people. It is heard often that people do not want to pay taxes because the money was not getting utlised properly. This law is a great step for proper utilisation of the money. I believe that it is a step that can close the gap between the rich and the poor and can build a healthy competition in future. It is a better way of uplifting needy people if it is compared to the present reservation system. However, this letter is not for making a comment on the present reservation system.

This was my view towards the law and I hope the Government of India will make further laws like this for the welfare of the people.

Yours faithfully,

Hiran Banerjee.
