Subject: Supply of polluted water in the locality

Sir,

I, on behalf of the residents of my locality, shall be much obliged if you allow me a little space in your esteemed newspaper to draw the attention, of the authorities concerned, towards the poor quality of water supplied to our homes since the past few weeks.

The water received by us is extremely filthy; it contains particles of mud, plastic, etc. Since few days, even worms have begin to appear in the water. This poses as major threat to the residents’ health. Many of them have fallen ill due to this. We are being forced to buy bottled water for our daily purposes. This is adding on to our expenses. We are being denied the right to clean and pure water.

We had written to the authorities regarding the issue earlier but they had turned a deaf ear to our complaints. Therefore, it is my humble request to you to publish an article about the same in your newspaper, so that the authorities take note of the matter and carry out the necessary actions.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours truly,

Subject: Low quantity and irregular supply of water.

Respected Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed daily newspaper, I woul like to highlight the problem of water scarcity in this locality.

For the last three weeks our locality is receiving very low quantity and irregular supply of water which is not enough for our daily basic needs like cooking and drinking. The few wells available in the area has dred up as they are not enough to meet the demand of so many people. The residents here are being compelled to buy water at extremely high rates.

Therefore, I earnestly request the concerned department and the authorities to look into the matter and restore immediate regular supply of water since the people of this locality are facing much hardship.

Yours sincerely,

T. K. Mukherjee
