Subject: Polluted and irregular supply of water

Respected Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed daily newspaper, I woul like to highlight the problem of water scarcity in this locality and polluted water supply.

For the last three weeks our locality is receiving very low quantity and irregular supply of water which is not enough for our daily basic needs like cooking and drinking. The few wells available in the area has dred up as they are not enough to meet the demand of so many people. The residents here are being compelled to buy water at exorbitant rates.

Further the water supplied is polluted and dirty. It is shocking that untreated water is supplied without thinking of the consequences of diseases like cholera, Diarrhoea and Typhoid.

Therefore, I earnestly request the concerned department and the authorities to look into the matter urgently and immediately restore regular and unterrupted daily supply of clean water since the people of this locality are facing untold hardship.

Yours sincerely,

Anjali Mukherjee

Bhulabai Desai Road
