Dear Future Me,
This is somewhat awkward for me because I’m not entirely sure how to write a letter to my future self, but here it goes.
Whatever you’re doing right now, stop. Go outside. Enjoy the gentle breeze outside or dance in the incessant rains. Don’t change a thing. Everything worked out exactly as it should be. All the puzzle pieces fit, all the paths make sense.
Pay heed to all the advises that your father gives you (even though they might not be so tempting). Trust his instincts more than yours. And call your mother more often. She misses you too. You might not realise it, but you are her mental and emotional support.
Spend time with people you love. Make time for your friends. Let go of that wrong person who pulls you down. See live music. Travel abroad with someone you care about. Immerse yourself in a good book.
Always love yourself. Make time for self-appreciation more often. Write down your thoughts. Tell your stories. Tell others’ stories. Listen. Set goals, both lofty and reasonable. I’m hoping that we not only make a mark on the world, but a mark on the people that we meet in our life. Go on an epic vacation and buy a new outfit with your sweet bank account that you hopefully acquired by now. You’ve earned it.
Life will always be interesting, crazy, fun, boring, unexpected, expected — a lesson in opposition. Enjoy it while you can. Hopefully you’re not that different than me now, but hopefully you have grown into something I can be proud of. Take care.
Regards (with lots of love)
