Subject: Threat of metal debris in the space

Sir:

I am writing this letter to you to express my deep concern over the metal debris in the space. This debris was created by conducting many experiments in the space. As many as half million big and small metal pieces are orbiting earth at the speed of 17,500 miles per hour. This debris can cause catastrophic damage to thousands of satellite orbiting our planet. These satellites are so crucial in maintaining connectivity at national and international levels.

The debris can also cause damage to ISS on which are boarded some astronaut all the time; their lives are in jeopardy. Keeping the technological, defense, meteorological, and telecommunication significance in mind, it is imperative to get rid of the threat of this space debris.

I appeal to you to look into it and start an initiative, involving other countries in the initiative to clear this space debris and make our space safe for satellites and ISS. Looking forward to some prompt initiative.

Yours truly,

Upen Sharma
