Dear Sir,

Subject: Water shortage and supply of dirty water in our colony

This is to bring to the notice of the concerned authorities the problem of acute shortage of water and supply of polluted water in our area through the columns of your esteemed newspaper.

The colony gets fresh water supply only for half an hour in the morning daily. At times, water comes only on alternate days. This is not enough for any household even for their basic needs of washing and bathing. The water supplied is, at times, so dirty that it is unfit for consumption. There have been innumerable cases of jaundice and typhoid after consumption of this water. Families have to spend heavily on bottled water for drinking and water tanks to supplement the water supplied by Delhi government.

I hope the concerned authorities will take adequate and prompt steps to solve this problem.

Yours truly,

XYZ

Subject: Supply of polluted water in the locality

Sir,

I, on behalf of the residents of my locality, shall be much obliged if you allow me a little space in your esteemed newspaper to draw the attention, of the authorities concerned, towards the poor quality of water supplied to our homes since the past few weeks.

The water received by us is extremely filthy; it contains particles of mud, plastic, etc. Since few days, even worms have begin to appear in the water. This poses as major threat to the residents’ health. Many of them have fallen ill due to this. We are being forced to buy bottled water for our daily purposes. This is adding on to our expenses. We are being denied the right to clean and pure water.

We had written to the authorities regarding the issue earlier but they had turned a deaf ear to our complaints. Therefore, it is my humble request to you to publish an article about the same in your newspaper, so that the authorities take note of the matter and carry out the necessary actions.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours truly,

Jewel Thief.
