The Editor,

             The Tribune,

             Chandigarh.

Sir,

Kindly publish my views on the growing craze for fashions among students in the esteemed columns of your paper.

The craze for fashions has obsessed all young minds. Young students are mad after modern fashions. They spend their time and money recklessly on fashions. they wish to look smart after the latest style. Tailors are their gods. They like to dress up like film actors and actresses. Many students have made fashions a matter of prestige and in doing so they sacrifice their studies. They are very particular about the latest ‘cut’ and ‘wear’ of the day.  Boys look like ‘dandies’ whereas girls look like butterflies. Girls wear such dresses as expose their bodies. They like to wear tight-fitting clothes. Even their hair styles are copied from the film stars.

The craze for fashions is not without apparent hazards. Certain fashions provoke the laughter of the on-lookers. Young students must understand that their first duty is to study and to make their careers. If they spend all their time in running after fashions, they will not be able to do well in their examinations. Parents and teachers must inculculate in them a love for simple living.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

XYZ

The Indian Express,

Chandigarh.

Sir,

Kindly publish my views on Modern Fashions in the esteemed column of your paper.

A rat race for fashions in causing several problems. Young boys and girls like to change their dresses, hair styles, color of their hair and hobbies almost every day. They are in the habit of aping either the westerners or their favorite heroines and heroines from films or television shows in all these matters. In their craze for new fashions, they get on the nerves of their parents who cannot afford to fulfill their increasing demands. T.V. ads and eyes-catching commercials misguide the people in to running after several

Novelties that is actually not as useful as claimed. Young boys and girls should refrain from run after fashions and advertisement and should use their own brains. Since fashions change every day the hard earned money for the parents should not be spent on wasteful luxury items that have to be discarded after a single use. Fashions take a high toll and mislead people into wasting money.

With thanks.

Yours truly,

XYZ.
