Respected Sir/Madam,
I am here to pen down my concern about the degradation of the purity of the rivers in our country. Water is the major life source for all living forms and it is our responsibility to conserve it. Rivers provide fresh water that is used for drinking but they are being polluted at an alarming rate.
If the situation prevails, we will not have fresh water in the next 10 years. It is our responsibility to conserve the rivers. They are used for irrigation purposes and also as a outlet for the factories. This causes severe health hazards and should be acted upon soon.
I kindly request you to kindly publish an article/take necessary action so that the people are aware about the degradation of our rivers and start conserving it.
Thank You.
Yours Respectfully,

Subject: Educating People to Keep Rivers Clean
Sir:
I am writing this letter to express my deep concern over the dumping of effluents and sewage drains into our life-giving rivers, which are turning into dumping channels and sewage drains. A country whose rivers are dirty can never have healthy people. Unfortunately, our rivers which are the lifelines of the nation have become big sewage drains.
We must ensure there is no pollution of rivers by dumping any waste such as, sewage, effluents, and other toxic substances. The people and the government must ensure installation of effluents treatment plants at industrial, garbage, and sewage units. By being the proactive stewards of this rare life-supporting element can we preserve and conserve it.
Clean, pure, sparkling rivers with abundant aquatic life reflect the cleanliness of the people who live on its banks. Their cleanliness is the indicator of the health level of the people inhabiting their banks. We must preserve our rivers because our own preservation is directly linked to their conservation.
I appeal to the people and the Government to look into the serious problem and take actions to preserve our rivers. Kindly give my views some space in your esteemed daily.
Yours truly,
Upen Srivastva
