Dear Sir,
I am writing to you on behalf of the entire student community regarding the increasing number of accidents of roads resulting in deaths. Apart from other citizens, a number of young students are involved in these unfortunate accidents shocking parents and teachers and creating waves of horror among the student community.
Our government and other authorities concerned are seriously concerned over this matter. They are taking the necessary steps to make the roads as safe possible. The municipal and civic authorities are also taking various steps to reduce the incidence of road accidents.
It is worth appreciating that the traffic authorities have stepped up their efforts in providing safety education to the public. They are also organizing safety weeks from time to time making the public aware of rules and regulations relating to safety on the roads. In addition, I would like to suggest that regular training programmes should be organized by the authorities concerned and the owners of different types of vehicles should be asked to participate in such programmes in different batches and localities.
I shall be grateful if you put across this suggestion through the columns of your esteemed newspaper.
Thanking you,
Yours truly,
Rajeev Bhaskar
