SIR,
I beg to say that The disposal of e-waste along with municipal waste cannot continue. E-waste must be recycled in order to conserve precious natural resources and avoid contamination. This is because its disposal in landfills and e-waste incineration can result in neurotoxins being released. The biggest challenge is to regularise the collection of e-waste from consumers which requires a high level of awareness. This can be enhanced by conducting seminars in schools and through advertisements. E-waste management must be introduced as a compulsory subject in schools. Financial incentives can be used to initiate the recycling habit. An SMS-based service can also help a person access the nearest waste recycling point. Finally, these models can also be thought of for the collection of e-waste. A “drop-off” programme with permanent collection centres and collection points as well as a pick-up programme. I hope you will give a little space to my views in ur esteemed newspaper
Yours respectfully
