Letter to your principal by requesting him to start swimming classes

Answer:
Dear Mr. Principal:
I believe that an extra hour of swimming practice during the summer would improve our school in significant ways.
You then write a paragraph for each of the principal’s needs.
One would explain how people who are physically fit are healthier and have better attendance.
Another would explain how people who exercise more are better able to concentrate, study, earn better grades, and get higher test scores.
A third would explain how people who excel in a sport such as swimming have no need to seek attention by acting out.
It would be good to do some Internet research and be able to back these statements up with proof.
If your principal is big on sports, explain how the extra hour will help your school win swim meets, and how it will also help athletes in other sports by giving them toned bodies.
If there are arguments about why the extra hour would be a bad idea, write a paragraph for each one explaining why it would be a bad idea. If you can explain this in terms of your pricnipaal’s needs, it will be stronger.
Close with a summary of what you have said. Offer to be available to meet with him/her and answer any questions. thank him/her for their support in the past and for taking time to read your letter.
When you meet, be ready for negotiations. You’ve asked for an hour, you may be offered half an hour. That’s more than you are getting now. Thank him/her and take the offer!
Good luck!
