My dear Uncle,

How are you, aunty and our beloved Ishita? We are all well and have just returned from a short vacation in Shimla.

I am very, very excited to break a good news to you as you have always been encouraging me. I cleared the National Talent Search Examination or NTSE level 1, held in the first week of November. Close to 50,000 students of Class X level, i.e. those that'll be appearing for the forthcoming Board Exam, appeared. I'm so overjoyed that I do not even know how many got selected eventually.

All I now know is the level 2 test will be held some time in May, 2017. After that,1000 scholarships in total will be awarded, out of which 775 awardees will be from the unreserved category. So, let us keep our fingers crossed till then.
Just for your information, the NCERT conducts the tests and it is widely regarded as the most difficult and most prestigious examination at the secondary level. Besides the honour, the scholarship will help finance my education from class XI through to the graduation level.

Please pray that I'm able to come out successful in level 2, as you've always been my idol and guide, ever since I can remember.

             As you know the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national-level scholarship program in India. It is one of the most prestigious exams in India It is an examination to identify and recognize students with high intellect and academic talent. Students who are studying in Class X are eligible to appear for the selection process.            
             My success at this level has motivated me to prepare for the next level with equal fervour. I hope to get through the next level also with flying colours.
