Respected Sir,

I am [Name of customer] and a resident of [name of place] belonging to your municipal area. This letter is to highlight the concerns that we are facing in our locality due to water logging as it is a monsoon season. I would like to inform that some scheduled repair work was going on and it stopped due to rainy season. Since the work was left behind, the concrete and stones are gathered near to that and it makes the passage of vehicles quite difficult.

The nearby surfaces have broken which leads to water logging due to heavy rains. Multiple craters are created in many places in the road which makes it difficult to commute especially for the two-wheelers.

This condition is destroying the sanitation of the area. As there are heavy rains, the sweepers also don’t visit on a daily basis. The craters are full of dirt and sewage water which flows over the street mixed with the rain water. There is foul smell all around and it has created a mosquito breeding place. The residents of nearby locality are getting affected by water-borne and air-borne diseases. Roads are always blocked leading to traffic jams; pedestrians have to move through flooded streets

I contacted the municipal authority multiple times on this matter yet they have not responded to my queries and concerns. Please look into this issue at the earliest.

Yours truly,

[Name of Sender]

Answer:

It was just another morning of a regular rainy season in Mumbai when I woke up at 6 am to see off my father going to Bhopal for work. It was cloudy and dull with some drizzle but everything looked peaceful.

I lazed around till about 7 am and then got out of bed to get ready for school. By around 8 am, when I was ready to leave home, I realized that it had been raining heavily for quite some time now. When I looked out of the kitchen window, I watched trees swaying and the drains has begun to overflow. Should I go to school at all? But then I had to go because it was internal assignment day.
