The walls of the squash/ badminton courts have large cracks; sports and gym equipment, washroom and light fittings are stolen/ missing/ not working; the water in the swimming pool hasn't been cleaned for a long time etc. Youth from the society have to spend large sums of money to go elsewhere for their fitness needs. Write a letter to the Editor of The Times Of India highlighting the causes and effects of the above-mentioned problem and suggesting possible solutions to restore the sports complex to its former efficiency. Complex was earlier known as Lake Club and was set up in 1961 making it one of the oldest sporting clubs of the city. It has a large club house spread on 10 acre campus. Now it has been renamed as Lake Sports Complex. The Lake Sports Complex rowing course was the venue of the 1989 Senior Asian Rowing Championship and the 1994 Junior Asian Rowing Championship. Many National Level Tournaments have been organized here. Besides Rowing, Canoeing & Kayaking, Sailing events are also being organized. It has playing facilities for Lawn Tennis (clay, synthetic and Grassy Tennis courts), Table Tennis, Billiards, Archery, Swimming, Squash and a Hi-Tech Gym having imported machines.
Sports Complex, Sector 7: This 6 acre sports complex was set up in 1960 and has the facilities for Athletics, Big Hall Badminton, Gymnastics, Squash, Synthetic Basketball Courts and Cinder Volleyball Courts.
