How are you? I was glad to hear about your new position as a Sub-Editor for
‘Chitralekha’ magazine. Hearty congratulations to you from me.
As you are already aware, I have been writing for the school magazine for the
past three years. Last year, I was awarded the post of ‘Editor’ of the magazine on
account of my prize-winning essay titled ‘Why school students must keep up with
the current times’. As you know, I wish to become a News Reporter in the future.
I, thus, wanted to do something related to news reports during the summer
vacation after S.S.C., which is why I decided to apply to a local newspaper.
I wanted your opinion on whether I should go ahead with this, as you have done
your fair share of internships with well-known newspapers. I have also attached
some of my best writing samples with this letter for you to go through. I still
remember the time when you would advise me to read the newspaper daily and I’m
