Letter writting:

A friend who has failed in an examination plans to run away from home out of frustration and has written to you seeking advice and help. Write a letter in reply why you feel he or she should not lose heart. Also suggest him/her that he/she should make a daily time table balancing between study time and
play hours and stick to that time table sincerely. At last success will knock at his/her door.

My Dear Friend,

I am shocked to know that you have not succeeded in your board examination. I cannot believe it, but it is the truth. You did not deserve it. I know you worked hard and did not do anything which would result into failure. It is only your bad luck which has played its part.

Now, what cannot be cured must be endured. Failures do come in one’s way. One should not be discouraged, but gather all courage to fight once again. All great people have failed in their efforts many a time but with renewed efforts and renewed will they succeeded the other time and made far better performances.

I hope, you will now be able to get through with far better marks than you expected this time. So it is not an occasion to despair but to see through all the weak points in you and prepare for your next attempt with a better force and surprise all around you with a brilliant success.

Kindly see that your parents do not get discouraged and assure them about your next hopes. They will also encourage you.

You loving friend

Dear (name of friend),

I hope you are doing well. As you know already, yesterday our results had been declared and you were quite disheartened to see yours. I hope I'm able to cheer you up through this letter.

I was saddened to see tears in your eyes as you gazed at your answerscript. But let me tell you that one bad grade does not mean that your world has fallen apart. Please do not remain sad about the poor result but instead concentrate on the mistakes you have made and try to improve yourself on those areas. Remember, failure is the stepping stone to success. If you have failed, it does not mean that you are a bad student or you are not smart enough, it simply means that there are loopholes in your studying method that you need to focus upon. This is an opportunity for you to learn, so don't waste it.I had faced the same situation last term when I failed in mathamatics. But I did not let failure stand in my way, I consulted the teacher about ways to improve myself, practised relentlessly and aced the next exam. I'm sure even you can do it. Everyone makes mistakes , even great scientists like Thomas Alva Edison did not succeed always. But they never gave up despite failures. Please do not give up on your hopes. If there is any way I can help you, let me know. All the best for your next exam.

Send my regards to Uncle and Aunty. I will wait for your reply.

With love,

(your name)
