Let the angle of elevation =θ.
∴tanθ=xh ............(i).
Again, if the height of the tower and the distance of the point of observation from its foot are increased by 10%,
Then the new height =H=h+100h×10=1011h
And, the new distance of the point of observation from its foot
=X=x+100x×10=1011x.
Let the new angle of elevation =ϕ.
Then tanϕ=XH=1011x1011h=xh=tanθ .......(from i).
∴θ=ϕ.
So, the assertion is correct.
