=) x-2 = √3

squaring both sides

=) (x-2) ^2 = (√3)^2

=) x^2 +4 -4x = 3

=) x^2 - 4x +1 = 0

=) x^2 + 1 = 4x ----------(1)

now dividing equation (1) by x we get,

=) x +1/x = 4 ans
