Given :-

(x+y,3y) = (7,15)

To find :-

The values of x and y

Solution :-

Given that

(x+y,3y) = (7,15)

x+y = 7 ---------(1)

and

3y = 15

=> y = 15/3

=> y = 5

On Substituting the value of y in (1) then

x+5 = 7

=> x = 7-5

=> x = 2

Therefore, x = 2 and y = 5

Answer :-

The value of x = 2

The value of y = 5

Check :-

If x = 2 and y = 5 then LHS of (x+y, 3y) = (7, 15) is

(2+5,3(5) )

= (7,15)

= RHS

Verified the given relations in the given problem.
