Given:

Number of rows = 5

Number of chairs left = 9

Number of rows in which chairs are arranged = 3

Number of chairs left = 15

To Find:

How many chairs does Liam have?

Solution:

According to the question -

5x + 9 = 3x + 15

Solving the equation =

5x - 3x = 15 - 9

2x = 6

x = 6/2

x = 3

Thus, there are 3 chairs in each row.

Total number of chairs -

5(3) + 9

= 15 + 9

= 26

Answer: Liam has 26 chairs.
