  • Liberals wanted a representative government but they were non-democratic people.
  • Liberals did not favor the universal adult franchise which gave voting rights to every person above the age of 18.
  • They granted voting rights only to powerful men who owned land. Only these men could cast their votes and have their voices raised in the parliament. The poor were neglected.
  • Women were not given any voting rights under the liberals.
