LiCl is soluble in organic solvent. Explain why.​

Answer :-

Organic solvents are generally non polar as compared to polar solvents like water. Ionic solute dissolves in polar solvents and covalent solute dissolves in non polar solvents. Lithium chloride has sufficient covalent character because of greater polarisation. Hence it is readily soluble in non polar solvents such as acetone and ethoxyethane.
