LIFE ITSELF CONSTITUTES A SEPARATE SPHERE CALLED BIOSPHERE

  • The physical Earth is made up of three different spheres, viz the Atmosphere, Hydrosphere, and Lithosphere.
  • The living organisms from all these three spheres make a sphere called the 'Biosphere'.
  • The term 'bio' refers to 'life'. In order to address only the living components of the three different spheres collectively, the term 'biosphere' must have been coined.
  • Life is found in all three spheres. Thus, it can be said that the 'biosphere' forms a part of all three physical spheres.
