Answer:

No, it isn't. Taking care of the animals is part of mankind's job, but man can't even take care of what he is supposed to for himself properly, how do you think he can take care of the animals properly?

I am glad you asked the question because it is a good time for people to learn the Truth about it. God's Word explains better than I can.

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes that there is no superiority of the man or the animal, that just as the one dies, so does the other. It also says that they both have the same spirit, and that when each dies, the spirit returns to the One who sent it.

What spirit are we talking about here, and how does it work? The spirit here means the energy, the life force that makes us alive. It can be likened to the electricity produced by a power plant. The same electricity flows through a light, a refrigerator, and an electric skillet and gives them the power to do their job, but the electricity does not turn into any of them, and neither does it pick up the characteristics of any of them, nor think their thoughts.

When the spirit returns to God, then, it is not the person who used to be alive by means of it. Like when the light is shut off, the electricity returns to the power company. It doesn't return as a light because it is the power to make the light shine, rather than the light itself. So it is with our spirit, our life force.

The Bible says that when He formed them out of the dust of the earth, He breathed the breath of Life into them, and they became living souls. It wasn't that He had some some souls laying around, so He put them in some dirt, and they grew to become what their soul made them to be.

Neither are people forordained, their lives are not written in stone beforehand, so to speak, nor does fate exist. People have a free will.

You see, the soul in the Bible and in this context means the life of that individual. Every individual life is precious in God's eyes, and so should life be precious to us. This includes the animals, their lives are preciouß also.

Animal want to live too! They may not be our intellectual equals, but the life of both animals and humans are the same, neither is better than the other. Life is Life, the supreme value to all who live.
