A painting is a story that comes
straight from the heart:
This fascinating tale of life
is old Warli art!
Each story tells of harvests.
of feasts, of war, and of play.
With a bit of white rice paste.
against a deep red clay!
On earthen walls, on cooking pots,
you see it everywhere,
with a perfect circle,
a triangle and a square!
The circle is symbolic
of the sun above the seas.
The triangle is symbolic
of the mountains and the trees!
The square speaks of the steadfast
that men build to hold
their families, to keep them safe
from the wind, the sun, and the cold
