Our lives have become subjugate due to technology’s existence. The electronics surrounding us constantly restrain us on a daily basis. We rely so heavily on the presence of the internet that it is hard to imagine life without this luxury. Nevertheless, only a couple of decades ago, people managed to survive their whole lives without these precious technological developments. The witnesses of such an era can arise without looking far into your family tree, think, your parents. The differences that the lifestyles between our generation and that of our parents' are infinite. Looking into my ancestry, I find that my mother has gone through life without many forms of technology, unlike my own. Though it can be hard to admit, technology has provided significant changes in the generations. The different aspects that technology has altered in generations is that of our school, home, and social lives. Born August 6th, 1975, my mom was raised in a small village on the border of the Indian provinces, Uttar Pradesh and Balia. By the time she was 15, she went to a relatively small one story school with around 18 classrooms. “Our school was pretty small when compared to other schools. Being in such a sheltered area, there was absolutely no technology whatsoever that could be found anywhere in the school.
