Gulmohars grow quickly, about 5-8 feet per year, reaching a mature height of about 40 feet in about ten years' time. They begin flowering after about five years if grown from cuttings, or up to ten years or so if grown from seed. They require a lot of light, and should not be planted close to other trees.
