Light a candle keep one hand above the flame at some distance. Keep the other hand on the side of the flame at the same distance. Do both hands feel equally hot? Why?

No. The hand above the flame gets more heat due to convection. On the sides, there is no convection and so air does not feel as hot as at the top.
