Given,

 i = 45 \textdegree \\ \\ \text{ let the spped of  light in vaccum be} \  v_1 \  \text{and  speed of light in block be } \ v_2  \\ \\ v_1 = c \\ \\ v_2 = \frac{c}{\sqrt{2}} \\ \\ \textbf{We know that, According  to Snell's law} \\ \\ \frac{\sin i}{\sin r} = \frac{v_1}{v_2} \\ \\ \frac{\sin 45\textdegree}{\sin r} = \frac{c}{\frac{c}{\sqrt{2}}} \\ \\    \frac{\sin 45\textdegree}{\sin r}  = \sqrt{2} \\ \\ \frac{\frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}}{\sin r} = \sqrt{2} \\ \\ \sin r = \frac{1}{2} \\ \\ \sin r = \sin 30\textdegree \\ \\ r = 30

r = 30°
