refractive index = sin I / sin r
speed of light in vacuum / =sin I /sin r
speed of light in plastic
c / c / √2 = sin 45 / sin r
√2 = 1 / √2 / sin r. [we know that sin 45= 1 /√2 ]
sin r =1/√2 × 1/√2 = 1 / 2
we know that sin 30 = 1 / 2
r = 30
