Hey there !

Solution:

Light is made up of seven different colours. These colours have different amount of speed at different medium of propagation.

Speed of all colours remain constant only in vacuum. In the earth's atmosphere many changes happen and the air particles are constantly moving. Due to this we cannot have the same speed for all colours.

So In earth light's colours have different speed rate. The speed of light can be calculated by the following formula:

  • λ = c.v

Here, λ represents wavelength, c represents speed of light and v represents frequency of the wave.

In the spectrum of light wave, Red has the longest wavelength and least frequency. On the other hand, Violet has the least wavelength and highest frequency.

Hope my answer helped !
