Light of wavelength 590 nm in air enters into water. Find its 1)speed 2)frequency 3) wavelength of light in water. Assume that frequency of light remains same in both the media and refractive index of water is 1.33.

speed= c/1.33=3*10^8/1.33 m/s

frequency= c/wavelength= 3*10^8/(590*10^-9) HZ

wavelength = 590/1.33 nm

UdayC: solution step?
ani99ket: by definition of refractive index speed of light become c/ k times where k is refractive index
ani99ket: now frequency remains same so it would be same
ani99ket: and we know that wavenght = c/frequency
ani99ket: just put the formula
