Light owes its colour to wavelength, and as wavelength is related to amplitude of the wave the colour of light that we see is dependent on amplitude as well.

Amplitude can be defined as the distance between the two crests or two troughs(identical) of the waves.

Colour of light depends on wavelength that ranges from 700nm( red end) to 400nm(violet end).White light is a spectrum of all the seven colours ranging from red to violet.
