Hey there,

Space is a topic that fascinates me a lot. From the the big bang to black holes, universe poses so many question to our brains that are unanswerable. Now coming to you question, IS THERE AIR IN SPACE?

A straight away answer would be NO, there is no atmosphere in space. Next question that pops up is, WHAT IS THE PROOF?

So let's come on the proof:----

Sky appears blue because white light is scattered by our Earth's atmosphere and the we see blue But, WHY ONLY BLUE???

Well, simple answer to this question is given by Rayleigh equation-

SCATTERING OF LIGHT is directly proportional to 1/λ⁴

That's why as distance increases, in sunrise and sunset we see red and orange sky because they have shorter wavelengths.

Now, SPACE---------------------------

If no colour will be scattered then we will see black and if all colours are scattered then we see white.

Since space is BLACK you must be getting the idea that there is no atmosphere to scatter the light from different stars including our sun.

HENCE PROVED  :)

HOPE IT HELPS!!!
