light travels in straight lines from a Source of light that bounces off an object. we can see the object because the reflected rays enter our eyes

  • Light rays traveling from a source such as Sun (natural source) hits obstacles in its path that absorb a particular wavelength or color of light and the color rays that are not absorbed are reflected by that object that reaches our eyes and we pertain it as the color of that object.
  • For example, leaves of trees appear green because they absorb all colored light rays from white light( combination of constituent colored light rays) of the visible light range (VIBGYOR) except green color wavelength of light.
  • Green light is reflected and we perceive that the leaves have a green color.
