Explanation:

Since speed of light is greater than speed of sound , lightning travels faster than thunder. Hence, even though lightening and thunder takes place at the same time, lightning is seen earlier than thunder can be heard.

Answer:

❀ʀᴇǫᴜɪʀᴇᴅ ᴀɴsᴡᴇʀ:

↦Though lightning and thunder takes place in the sky at the same time and at the same distance, speed of sound is less than speed of light so light travels the same distance faster than sound.

↦ Speed of light = 3 x 108 m/s.

↦ Speed of sound = 330 m/s.

↦ So we see lightning first and then we hear thunder.
