Lightning can be seen the moment it occurs. Raju observes lightning in his area. However, he hears the sound after 5 seconds after he observed the lightning. Why? How far is he from the place where lightning occurs? (Speed of sound = 330 m / s).

Time taken = 5 sec
Speed of sound = 330m/s
Distance = (330 × 5) m = 1650 m = 1.65 km
Since the speed of light (3000000000 m/s)is much much greater than the speed of sound (330 m/s), it can be seen first and then heard
