Due to the small size of lithium, it will polarize the large anion oxygen, the C−O bond will become weak and Li−O bond will become stronger so they will split, and hence they will not be in the solid state.
It is found in solution form also due to it's anomalous properties of Li and it's diagonal relationship with Mg.
Magnesium bicarbonate exists only in aqueous solution. Magnesium does not form solid bicarbonate as like Lithium bicarbonate
