it's true that all living beings need water but you must focus on the reason behind their need. Living beings need water to survive! Now when you talk about water, as far as I know, it's a non living thing. So, basically the question has a very little sense in it though I don't mean something to the person who asked it. Now I said that because water does not survive as it has absolutely no life in it so there's no point in talking about it's needs. Ya but if you go to it's chemical compositions, then for the water to be formed, it requires hydrogen and oxygen in the ratio 2:1.
