If they are repelling from each other (means: getting away and you are unable to join them)then that means both poles are the same and then if you want to check, that how do unlike poles attract? then just change the pole of any magnet, keeping the other magnet's pole the same as it was and then join those poles. They would be joining. Why? It is because they both are not the same(means: they both are unlike to each other.
