AIM
To study types of charges on two objects rubbed together
MATERIALS REQUIRED
Two plastic rulers, clamp stand, piece of flannel, bits of paper, thread, etc.
METHOD
Take a plastic ruler and line its one side
with flannel. Now rub this flannel with
another plastic ruler. Bring both the rulers
near bits of paper. Note the observations.
Now, suspend one of the rulers from a
stand and bring the other near it.
(ie, both after rubbing) Observe it.
OBSERVATIONS
(Both the rulers attract bits of paper. It is because both get electrically charged
after rubbing
(ii) Both the rulers attract each other. It proves that on rubbing, the bodies
acquire opposite charge.
RESULT
(0 Object get charged on rubbing
(ii) Like charges repel each other while unlike charges attract each other.
