Lilly has Rs.34 all in 50p and 25p. if 25p coins are twice as much as 50p coins. find the total number of coins for each?

let x be no. of 50p coins

therefore 2x be no. of 25p coins

total amount is rs34= 3400p

50x + 25(2x) = 3400

50x +50x =3400

100x = 3400

x= 34

therefore no of 50p coins = 34

no of 25p coins = 68
