GIVEN

  • Amy found 24 more autumn leaves than Dennis
  • they found a total of 96 autumn leaves

TO FIND

  • Number of leaves lily found.

Let the no. of leaves found by

  • Dennis be D
  • Amy be A
  • lily be L

ATQ

  • D + A + L = 96
  • D = L - 25
  • A = D + 24

SOLVING ABOVE, WE GET

D + D + 24 + D + 25 = 96

3D + 49 = 96

3D = 47

  • D = 16

  • A = 49

  • L = 41
